It's been two weeks since I've returned from Karen Hillman's Beauty In Blue event. To this day my mind keeps drifting and dreaming of the Texas Blue Bonnet fields.
When you see the fields for the first time it truly takes your breath away.
Mother Nature at it's finest!!!
If it wasn't for the rockin', beautiful, talented, sincere, fun loving Karen Hillman I highly doubt I would have had the opportunity to surround myself with such beauty. Mother nature and the lovely ladies.
I had the most FABULOUS time at Beauty in Blue!
We stayed at the most darling ranch located on acres of land in Scurry, Texas.
Stacey Seely is the owner of the ranch and she went above and beyond for us girls.
She spoiled us with her daily delicious gourmet cooking!
We crafted our little hearts out in this cozy building located just outside the house.
Karen didn't miss a detail!
Beautiful swap gifts were exchanged and raffled prizes given away!
Sugar is always a hit at an event!
Our first project was Molly Knox's gorgeous Blue Elegance Vignette.
I love how my dress turned out simple and sweet.
In Karen's Belle In The Blue Bonnet class we made these gorgeous statement necklaces.
Full of pretty baubles and bits!
Our last project of the day was my Bountiful Bucket of Beauty.
Half of our time together was crafting and the other half involved.....
SHOPPING!!!!!!
We kicked off our shopping expedition at Red Shed Antiques located in Grapevine.
They had a lovely welcome reception for us with food and drinks.
Sherry is wasting no time! tee! hee!
Adorable Molly!
Our group of blue beauties hit as many gorgeous shops as possible.
Love this altered glove lampshade!
Bunnies!
The by far BEST shopping trip was our two full day excursion to Canton.
I was OVERWHELMED by the size of Canton.
A girl can easily get lost! Wait....Sherry and I did in fact get lost one time. ha! ha!
Had to ask directions twice. ;)
Girls Gone Junkin' rolled out the ivory/burlap/cream carpet for us!
The ladies all had huge Texas smiles and warm greetings!
I had to pick up my jaw up off the floor when I saw the space. Every inch...every corner was full of gorgeous and exquisite detail.
I squeeled with one look at this adorable Junkin' pink car with baby dolls.
More adorb bunnies.
The Girls Gone Junkin' hosted a lovely reception for us and we had the opportunity to create a make and take lampshade project.
If you are a flea market junkin' lover you MUST visit Canton, and Girls Gone Junkin'!!!!
I've saved the best for last....
The hightlight of the weekend was seeing Karen's dream come true!!
Photographing in the Blue Bonnets fields.
We picked the best weekend to come to Texas.
The fields were acres of blossomed Blue Bonnets.
I captured a few beautiful shots with my camera.
Molly
Sherry
Pretty Shelley
Love this photo of Karen.
These women photographed here all have a special and dear place in my heart.
When you spend a cozy intimate weekend of nine ladies on a lone Texas ranch you begin to develop a fond kindred friendship. You share personal stories and learn more in depth about that person. You never the know the shoes they've walked in.
Always remember you can never judge from the outside. It's what's inside that counts!
These women reminded me of that during our lovely time together.

Thank you for the sweet trip down Beauty in Blue memory lane, Jenn! This was my first-ever art retreat, and being able to attend was a dream come true for me. Karen did such a great job planning special times for us, and Stacy of Whitworth Ranch showed us such hospitality and created all that wonderful food for us. The fun times we all spent shopping, creating, talking, and laughing together continue to give me many happy memories to think about.
A really special treat for me was getting to meet YOU, Jenn--one of my blog idols! I really mean that. I am glad I'll be able to continue to keep up with you and your lovely creativity through your blog. Reading it will mean all the more to me now that I've actually met you. : )

Looks like you had a great time! If I had known you'd be in Grapevine, I would have come out to meet you ladies.
