Im THRILLED and honored to be featured as a guest artist on my sweet friend Amy Power's Inspire Company website. I've had a BALL creating fun and whimsical treats that are currently for sale in her shop. So let's take a lookie at what's available.

Sparkley Cupcake Fairy wands. Who doesn't LOVE cupcakes? This adoring little fairy is ready to celebrate, so give her a jingle and let the party begin!

This next sugary sweet creation is titled "Candyland" It was inspired by the board game and the children from the movie " Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". They are much cuter than the Oompa Loompas.  :)

Im sooooooooo tickled to share these DARLING vintage doll head brooch corsages. All the girls have their own style and name. You can dress up a jacket, pin it on a handbag or tote bag, adorn it to a frilly lamp shade, or even add it to some gorgeous ribbon for a gift.

This was my first gal I ever made. Her name is Daisy.

I've always been envious of those that have a beautiful gift of writing. I might not be one of those gals, but I do feel like I've developed my own personal style and I ALWAYS write from my heart!!! I would love to give a WARM THANKS to Miss Jenny Heid. It was Jenny from the very beginning that inspired me to start blogging and open a Flickr account. (Which Im so addicted to btw!!! LOL!!!) Jenny kept insisting I jump on board! Well, Im soooooo glad I DID!!! Im going to sound super sappy here, but blogging has changed my LIFE!!!! Never EVER did I expect to connect with soooo many talented, inspiring, and fabulous people. I cherish the friendships I have developed thru blogging. Who could ever imagine I could be such close friends with someone that lives hundreds of miles away? That is what the gift of blogging has done for me. Il_430xN_29958457

HOW CUTE!!!! Wouldn't these look PRECIOUS decorated at your 4th of July picnic??? You can find them here in Suzanne's shop Italian Girl in Georgia for purchase.

Ok, Next SUPER fabulous find. Are these AMAZINGLY ADORABLE hair barretts from Goldilocks. They scream SUMMER FUN!!!!

Darling packaging!!!

DSCN1842

EEEK! Miniature SNOW CONE and RED, WHITE, and BLUE POPSICLE !!!!

DSCN1844

Im SO excited to put these Im Miss Vivi's hair. Of course I can see my son totally intrigued with them trying to pull them out of her hair which in turn causes her to scream and have a lovely meltdown. :)

I CANT believe it's been since Easter since I've listed new items in my Etsy shop. It's totally been lonely and neglected. :( Well, I have a GOOD REASON why. Turning that frown upside down! :)

I've been asked by the incredibly talented, super sweet, and lovely Amy Powers of Inspire Company to be featured as a guest artist on her site as of July 1st. I was extremely flattered and honored that she asked me to feature and sell my work. So with that being said I have actually been a VERY VERY busy bee working away for the past 2 months. I've created some fresh and new original creations which Im DYING to share. I will share one sneak peek, but you will HAVE to visit Amy's site on July 1st for ALL the yummy goodies that will be for sale.

This piece is I literally dreamed up one night while in bed. There is something magical about hot air balloons. They lift you up into the soaring sky and clouds and float and sail you around where all is beautiful and peaceful. This hot air balloon is titled "Searching for Love".

DSCN0283_edited-1

DSCN0406_edited-2

The story of this piece is of a Parisian lady soaring over Paris looking for her long lost love. She is holding old vintage postcards and love letters.

DSCN1230_edited-1

The ballon is made out of chicken wire. Oh yes! That was an experience! Nice little scratched up hands. LOL!!! I wanted the style to be a dreamy french parisian theme balloon. The banner says "Searching for Love" in French. I've adorned the balloon with vintage rhinestone brooches, ribbon, fan, feathers, minature mask, millinery, etc.

Here are some close-up's.

This is my first balloon I've ever made, and being it so special I just decided I must keep it. :) I have an old birdcage stand in which I display the hot air balloon in and sits beautifully in my room.

DSCN1228_edited-2

Since this first balloon I have decided to start a "series" of hot air balloons. ALL will have a different theme and no two will be alike. I have created two smaller hot air balloons that will be for sale as of July 1st on Inspire Company's website.

Ok, Im going to give you gals a little sneak peek of what you will find on Amy's site! hee! hee! Im such TEASE!

IMG_0795

DSCN1490_edited-1

Late this summer I am starting a project of "re-doing" Grant's big boy room in a vintage nautical theme. My friend Suzanne who is an interior designer suggest I dont do the obvious "red, white, and blue" and do more neutral tones of sand, linen, seafoam greens, aqua, blue, and a mixuture of orange and gold yellows. I LOVE the idea!!! Im going to purchase twin beds and do simple bed coverings of washable matelasse coverlet, stripe ticking window treatments, and accessories that are vintage and vintage inspired. Lookie at what I bought yesterday for his room! Sooo cute and they match his wardrobe PERFECT!

DSCN1499_edited-1

I purchased this big wooden star which I thought it would look great on his bedroom wall. My hubby instantly took one look and said it looked like a  devil worship symbol. GEEZ!!!! THANKS HON!!! LOL!!!

DSCN1501_edited-1

I found these already painted blue and green picture frames, and these vintage bouys.

DSCN1500_edited-1

Keep your eyes open if you see anything that would be super cute for his room. Drop me a line! Looking is ALWAYS the fun part!!!

Ok gals, Im less than one week away from sharing with you some fun and exciting news. Cant wait! Come back and visit me soon!

Alli

Lastly, I want to dedicate this post to my beloved Alli. My husband and I had to put our sweet girl to rest this past Friday. She has lived a long and wonderful 16 years. She has brought so much unconditional love and happiness to my life. I purchased her when I was 20 years old and she has journeyed with me thru the up's and down's of my life. She will always be in my heart and will be deeply missed.

Hugs & Kisses to you all! Have a wonderful Father's Day & week!

Summer Days

DSCN1045_edited-1

Hello sweet friends! Glad you've stopped by. Our family is enjoying the lazy days of summer. My son Grant has summer break from his pre-school so it's been so nice not being on a fixed schedule and routine in the mornings. We can all leisurely get up and have time to actually enjoy the morning and not have to experience the mad rush of busy week day mornings. Well, MY CHILDREN may not notice a difference, but I DO!

I LOVED summer as a child. It meant swimming, riding bikes, ice cream trucks, roller skating outside in the driveway, family vacations. Brings back so many fun and nostalgic times in my childhood. Right now Im enjoying this time with my children and creating wonderful and memorable summer experiences for them. Before it get's TOO EXTREMELY HOT here in the south I try to let them spend as much time outdoors. This past Saturday I took my children to Dairy Queen. LOTS of great memories at the ole' DQ! Got to love their soft serve ice cream!!!

DSCN1009

YUMMY!!!!!

DSCN1010

After our trip to the local DQ, we headed to the park to burn off the calories. ;) This was Vivi's first time on a swing set and just from looking at the first pic it's obvious she LOVED it!

The heat is already reaching the 90's here so needless to stay we didnt stay at the park too long. I put sunscreen on them both and they still started turning PINK!

It's nice to spending quality time with my children. Too often, I get caught up in my creations and work that Im guilty of not "stopping to smell the roses" I keep reminding myself that they are only young once and to enjoy every moment of it.

GIRLS! GIRLS! GIRLS! Who has seen this movie yet? What did you think? I LOOOOVED IT!!!! Im sure like many of you I am a HUGE DIE HARD fan!!!! Some of my close girlfriends Heather & Renee with whom I use to be next door neighbors with back in my younger single days use to get together to watch new episodes of Sex and the City every Sunday evening. We would wear our pj's, mix up a margarita and sit back and enjoy. Sometimes our good friends Ben & Jerry would hang out too. ;)

My girlfriend Heather hosted an "all girl" party for the opening night of the movie. Sixteen of us gals dined at a fun swanky restaurant in Atlanta. We of course had to celebrate the movie with the traditional COSMO martini.

The evening was a blast! You MUST see this movie if you are a fan. I promise it wont dissapoint!

Have you ever heard of the motto "Less is more..." Well, I do believe in that in most cases. Less clutter and more simple is very soothing and pleasing to the eye. I agree to an extent. However when it comes to my daughters room it's MORE! MORE! MORE! I cant stop buying and collecting things for her room. Hence my newest purchase. I want to share with you my custom Vivian cupcake banner made my the SUPER SWEET and amazingly talented Laurie of Happy as a Lark.   I own several pieces of Lauries work and Im in love with her magical and enchanting creations. Especially her fairies!!!! This is a cupcake banner made in my favorite pastel colors with Vivian's name at the bottom.
